Gardener and writer based in South West England.
As a professional horticulturalist, my career has taken me to gardens such as Cambridge Botanics, Sissinghurst, and Windsor Castle, as well as further afield to Israel, Sicily, and France. Following a break to have children, a series of well-timed opportunities gently nudged me towards writing, though initially the whole thing felt too good to be true. Surely researching and writing about plants was far too enjoyable to be classed as ‘work’?! Happily I was proven wrong, and over past few years have settled into a dream career of creating horticultural content for retailers, national magazines, and garden websites.
With a decade and a half of practical experience I write from a place of genuine expertise, though with warmth, wit, and approachability. I continue to garden professionally, believing firmly in the importance of practising what you preach. Never trust a garden writer with clean fingernails!
